The Tracks

In many ways this web site grew from a year-long event which took place on the New Musik Yahoo Group. In early 2007 someone suggested that we review every track New Musik ever produced, one track per week - the track changing each Saturday.

What started as a bit of fun, though remaining a bit of fun, also became a weekly "punctuation mark" in each contributor's life.

It was decided that the Japanese CDs were the best basis for the review order, as they contain every track New Musik ever produced.

Not one week was missed, and incredibly the whole process took exactly 52 weeks - starting on Saturday 24th Feb 2007 and ending on Saturday 16th Feb 2008 . Another notable coincidence was that 'Churches', a track largely based on the number 7, was reviewed on the 7th day of the 7th month of the 7th year of the millenium.

The tracks have been listed here by week number, as they were reviewed. Week 11 was devoted to the album review of From A to B, and 'Division' was reviewed over 2 weeks because of other "diversions". The comments published on this site are only the reviews, there's a lot of additional banter in the group message archives for anyone that wants to look it up.

Also, group owner and regular contributor Richard M took it upon himself to transcribe all the lyrics, from listening to eack track (many of the sleeve notes had mistakes in the lyrics).
